where did you guys find the drivers for it?
I Installed Nero, and went to try and burn something, but the DVD/RW isn't listed under recorders...only the image recorder...any ideas?
Hey, just to make sure: you didn't buy an enclosure to make it external, right?
If you did (like me), you will only have problems finding the driver on win9x, i think. (the enclosurewill be the probl.)
If you bought for your desktop, i think i don't need to tell about the correct IDE and power cables (the power only fits the right way anyway).
About the jumpers. Again i don't know if you already know (maybe), but look at the bios what drive is Primary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Master and Secondary Slave.
If you have only one drive and a media drive (common config), probably the HD is P-Master and the drive is S-Master. So, probably the jumper setting behind the drive is set to one of those. If they are, it won't work. Normally the drives have a little label on the upside telling what is what. Choose one that is different from those you see on the CMOS settings (edit: different from your existing drives). Normally you should use the CMOS "Auto-detect" feature when installing...
Just a few tips. Any complicated thing (more than this), just tell.
