ANOTHER Price Drop?

Is it me, or did they lower the price after rebate by another ~ 100 bucks? That's great as long as you like green, cause now the other colors are gonna cost ya another 46 bucks! I'd love to be the guy who controls these prices for one day. I'd make everything 4 dollars, but then make shipping and handling $3,000.

This also furthers my opinion that AW is having problems trying to sell their systems when PCI-X is just around the corner. If this puppy hit's 1500 I'm buyin!

AW couldn't be busier right now with back to school and xmas around the corner. They're probably at 110% capacity right now.

So hey, my 51m is in phase 4. If I call them up will they refund $50 (The difference in my old bill and the new AW with the same config?)

Yes they will refund you! My bro's sentia dropped in price when it was still in the phase game, and they credited our VISA.

Craig, The only reason I'm not calling up AW and buying a laptop from them right now is because of PCI-X. I'm sure they're are a lot of other people in the same boat waiting for the new technology to finally get into a lappy. And when it does, I'll be the first one to snag one! I think I'm actually going to wait to see what AW produces in terms of a pci-x laptop, cause the sager, at least for me, doesn't cut the mustard. I'm PRAYING that AW will release one that is somewhat more aesthetically as pleasing as their current 51m.

Oh I surely agree with you Northern...yet they are surely not hurting for sales as someone above commented.

I'm very excited myself

I agree, I currently have a 51m for my company and I am ready to buy another one. However, I am waiting to see what happens next. I will not buy another laptop until it is significantly different than the one I have. I pass mine off to the next in the food chain and I get the new one. It makes sense to me.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, except I'm waiting for the new Dothan Processor for the Sentia that has a 533 MHz FSB

1500 for a 51m? You're dreaming

PCI-X is the PCI 2.0 specification.

You must mean PCX or PCI-E, PCI Express, eh?

He was referring to the current 51m (766) model if it dropped to 1,500.00 bucks he would buy one.

I never understood that phrase "selling like hotcakes," I've never seen hotcakes for sale They should continue to slowly lower the price IMO because sometimes $100 drop for them could mean more units sold. Yes I realize they are getting tons of orders. I wouldn't purchase now just because of the technology on the horizon, but to each her/his own.
