Bluetooth Devices

Hey everyone,

I am a recent new owner of the very popular 700M. Seeing that this computer doesn't offer bluetooth internally I just decided *during an impulse buy* bought myself a Logitech MX900 which has a bluetooth module within the wireless mouse hub.

Any how. *Yes I do not have any bluetooth devices, why the hell the did buy the mouse then?* Hehe IMPULSE! But now that I have bluetooth on my computer what else can I use it for other than syncing with Phones and PDAs any other interesting usages? If i've spent this much money already why not spend a little more to make use of this bluetooth hub.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Sort of, but no cord on the mouse itself is still nice.

I have the BT500 for my 8600 (w/ builtin bluetooth) and it is fantastic! It connects straight up when you turn it on. You don't have to muck around at all.

Opps. In response to the question, it is really only used for PDAs, phones, mice/keyboards and printers. Too slow for much else. I use with my NGage phone, iPAQ 2210 and BT500 mouse.

I use it on my XPS for Teamspeak with a bluetooth headset. Works great.

Not the same quality as Sennheiser HD600's, but it is cordless and tiny.

renntecher if you are going to use a cordless mouse use the MX1000 - its $30 cheaper and has a built in LiON battery and has a laser sensor - not optical - a very very very fast, cool, and precise mouse. i love it.

Thought you'd find this site useful in determining what kind of bluetooth devices are available.

Can anyone suggest a good, precise standalone Bluetooth optical mouse preferrably in black or silver that uses the existing TM 300 Bluetooth module in my notebook? I guess I don't need the mice with Bluetooth hubs...I'm partial to Microsoft hardware as it seems solidly built, but I'm open to input with pros & cons...

Just for reference, the most comfortable mouse i've used is a Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical...just a couple buttons, scroll wheel, and great ergonomics.

I'd consider the Microsoft Bluetooth IntelliMouse Explorer Optical, except that it seems to be PS/2 ONLY in the main page description here -
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mo...s.aspx?pid=032

but under System requirements on that page it lists this mouse as being USB driven...anyone have one of these to clear that up?

To summarize, I want a plain, standalone BlueTooth optical mouse WITHOUT hubs, stands, etc...which works with Dell's BlueTooth software/drivers...

Sorry for the long winded post, and thx in advance.

I have a BT500, and it is great. It is the perfecct size for a laptop bag, and has a power switch to save battery when not in use. Whenever it is turned on and within range of my computer, it connects right up without any action on the laptop. Takes less than 3 seconds! Compliments my 8600 greatly. I highly recommend it. They come in blue/silver combo or white. Go for the silver/blue combo.

No problem. I hope it is what you are looking for. It really is a great mouse. If you can get it at your local computer store (as I couldn't), try on eBay. I got mine for a good price brand new off eBay.

The BT500 and the Thermaltake mice are the same product. The Thermaltake comes in more colors. I have the Thermaltake A2147. I did not even use the install CD that comes with the mouse. I put the batteries in it and turned it on, ran the bluetooth wizard and paired it to my TM300. It's that easy. When the batteries run low, the thumb wheel starts blinking blue (same blue as during the pairing process).

Bluetooth Mouse ??'s for M60

Howdy,

I just got a M60 this week, and bought a mouse to take advantage of the internal bluetooth. The connect process is not very seamless... or rather the re-connect is ardous: the mouse I bought is the EpoX BT-MS02B. I can still return it minus NewEgg restocking.

To connect, I have to (1) touchpad to the Bluetooth icon in the tray, (2) right-click on "Explore My Bluetooth Places", (3) double-click on "Display previously found Bluetooth Devices", let it search, (4) double-click on the found mouse, (5) click the "Yes to Connect the Human Interface Device", wait some more, and then (6) click with the mouse.....

I wouldn't mind if this was the first-time initialization procedure, but if the mouse sits idle for much longer than 10 minutes, I have to repeat (i.e. twenty times a day). This ain't cutting it.

1. either I need to change settings (there are no drivers for the mouse).

2. or I need a different mouse.

On the other hand, I bought a Kensington PocketPro Wireless mouse for my daughter's laptop, using a USB dongle - and it works without all that hassle, except the dongle.

Can ya help me figure out what settings to use in the "Bluetooth Configuration", or another mouse to buy. I did look up that Logi MX1000 - does it work w/o a USB dongle to the internal bluetooth???? It could be good for my CAD work = fussy pointing. Same question for the BT500; does it work with the internal bluetooth of my M60????

Cheers,

I have the BT500 and it works great with the internal bluetooth in my 8600 (same as in the M60). It paired really easily the first time, and reconnection requires no actions except making sure bluetooth on the laptop is on. Just flick the power switch on the mouse and in about 3 secs it is connected and ready for action.

Take a look at this review:

Just got the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for BlueTooth...fits my hand perfectly. Install was a snap as well, couple issues however -

Using the Dell drivers A05, the buttons on the mouse cannot be reassigned.
So I uninstalled the Dell drivers, and am using SP2's native BlueTooth drivers for the TM300 - now I can reassign mouse buttons, but the mouse freezes after 10 minutes of inactivity, so I have to use the touchpad pointer to redetect the BlueTooth mouse...anyone else with these issues or a resolution?
Also, did y'all keep the Alps driver for the touchpad installed on your machines or remove it?

Thx...

BTW, for those interested, here's the latest IntelliPoint software for all Microsoft mice -

I have left the Alps software because i use the scrolling feature on the touchpad. I have never had a disconnection problem with my BT500. It could be something to do with the Microsoft Bluetooth software.
