I don't believe It does. Actually, I hate using the touchpad and much prefer using a mouse.

In case anybody else is interested, I found the Thermaltake version of the BT500 mouse at zipzoomfly.com for only $54.99 and that is with the usb adapter and free 2nd day shipping. Supposedly it is identical to the BT500. The link to the page is [Here]. You can find the other two colors also by running a quick search.

It is identical to the BT500. Bluetake is a spinoff of Thermaltake. They deal with the "Blue"tooth products. That seems to be a pretty good deal!

I only use the touchpad when I have to (eg. no stable surface for mouse).

Before I got my i8600 with internal Bluetooth. I had a HP that I used a Bluetooth PC card. It worked great with all my Bluetooth stuff. Bluetooth makes great sense on Notebooks but does not on Desktops. I use the BT500 for my travel mouse and the Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while at home (the Microsoft mouse is a bit big to stuff in the case). I have had few issues with any of it. Yes the mouse goes to sleep after about 5 min just move the mouse back and forth a few times on either mouse and they wake up.

I also use the Logitech headset so I can videoconference. And then I have a Bluetooth GPS.

I would love to get Bluetooth headphones also but as of now I only know Bluetake makes a set that are a bit pricey and do not have good reviews.

Also if you have a Bluetooth phone you could pair it to the notebook and use as a wireless modem if need be.

I would go get a Bluetooth PCMCIA card if you do not have Bluetooth built in. the USB dongle works but it is just another thing to plug in. may as well just get a cheap wired USB mouse in that case, IMO.

If anyone has questions regarding the MX900 and TM300 setup feel free to PM me about it also the MX1000 isnt an improvement over the MX900 IMO I own both and the MX1000 is definetly going back tommorow.

update:
MX900 works fine with TM300; my bad for awhile - somehow the 'discovery' setting had been excluding that device (find under advanced bluetooth config>discovery). I will also be getting a MS bluetooth intellimouse, so can post a compare next week.

For future refrence taking out the battery and replacing it refreshes the mx900

MX900 with other Bluetooth Adaptors

Hey guys just wanted to update you on my situation on teh MX900.

I got it working with a USB bluetooth adaptor that i bought over ebay for about 24 dollars. Its nice and compact unlike that huge hub. It was a pain to get it connecting but after updating my windows to SP2 everything worked like a charm!

Any how hope this saves people some time if they are trying to pair up the DLINK DBT-120 with a MX900 (or any other bluetooth mouse) to update to SP2, it is a lot more user friendly in terms of configuring.

I totally love it! I can output my 700M to my TV and use the mouse from the couch...yes I am that lazy!

That is what I'd love a BT keyboard for! Is there a bluetooth remote control available?

Remote...well the only thing I know of is the Dinovo set from Logitech...a set fit for a king @ 250 dollars...

Let me know there is anything else available for BT

this mouse operates on the 2.4GHz frequency, does that mean its a bluetooth device? Its not marketed as a bluetooth product thought..

Probably not cuz in order for a company to have bluetooth technology they have to pay for the right to use their communication protocol. Especially if it was from a big pherp. company like logitech they would state that it is bluetooth if it works with it.

hope it helps!

There are RF mice that work on the 2.4Ghz frequency, so unless it says "Bluetooth" it will be RF.

MS Bluetooth Intellimouse vs.Logitech MX900

Howdy again,

These are my personal & quite amateur comparisons of the MS Bluetooth Intellimouse & the Logitech MX900. My primary grading criteria is seamless integration. Second is fit & feel. Both work, though I think the MS mouse is the winner. The MS mouse is able to stay consistently connected thru the laptop's sleep mode & re-awakening; with about four seconds jiggle the mouse is active on the XP login screen. The MX900 generally stays similarly connected, but is more inconsistent – after some sleep mode sessions I found myself selecting >Bluetooth>Search for Devices>Connect… etc.

I DO have a pointer sensitivity issue to work out with the MS mouse. I installed IntelliPoint SW. I increased the sensitivity in >Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options, however, upon reboot the sensitivity is reduced to default. I uninstalled IntelliPoint SW – no change. As if trying the same thing would bring a different result, I again installed IntelliPoint, but no improvement. Using XP Pro SP1. Suggests for a fix & comparisons are very welcome.

The MS mouse is larger, and since blue is my least favorite color, uglier. The MX900 definitely pairs cosmetically well with the Dell grays. The MS seems to fit my hand very well, the matte texture seems good for grip, and the bigger browser buttons are more useful. Bear in mind that I have large, thin hands that can span an octave on the piano.

The MS Mouse is about 5mm higher, 5mm shorter, and 7mm wider than the MX900:

Neither have an 'off' button: the designers knew that these things were too big to lug around vs. $.25 switch (a big bucks in electronics).

I did have the 'Discovery' screen disabled once but am using:

Obviously the settings on these two screens seem to be in conflict.

Both Mice work; it just seems that the MS Mouse connects more automatically. I notice a plethora of MS Bluetooth Mouse/Keyboard combo units in OEM packaging for sale on eBay for the cost of retail-priced MS BT Mouse.

I might pick up a Bluetake / Thermaltake BT mouse for travel when I’m feeling flush.

I have just bought a Logitech MX900 to replace the BT500 I had. It was just too small for me. I found it uncomfortable to use for extended periods. The MX900 is a great size, and i can really grip it without having my hand drag along the desk.

I have read somewhere that you can use SonyEricsson K700 as a remote for you BT-enabled computer. If thats the case it should be possoble with other new high-end phones.

There is also a piece of software for series 60 phones called Bemused that can control WinAmp, Windows Media Player and powerpoint slides over bluetooth from the phone. I have tried is on my NGage and it works great.

Got the Microsoft "Wireless Optical Desktop Keyboard for Bluetooth" and it works fine with TM300. I haven't been experiencing the automatic discovery like the MS bluetooth mouse, but still good. The keyboard has all these extra function keys which make the thing as big as a laptop, and the keys are a translucent blue that can be hard to read under a desk light. The only functional critique I give it is that the battery compartment lacks spring to robustly accomodate AA batteries of varying lengths. Recommended - functions as a poor man's docking in combination with my 21" desktop monitor. Liking the MS mouse even more the longer I use it.

My mum has the Logitech wireless desktop (RF, not bluetooth) and it has all the extra buttons and it really good. I have to agree about the translucent keys. it has black ones, and they can be a bit hard to read, but not too bad. Looks to be the same as the bluetooth one. Very good keyboard though.

Don't have an external keyboard for my i8600, but I dont think I could like without my MX900 now. I use it everywhere. The sensor on the MX900 is so good, that I can use it when I lie on a carpet floor, and for everywhere else I use my slim mousepad. It connects seemlessly to my i8600. I have only had it not connect one, but that was because my i8600 stuffed up (well, WinXP actually). A restart got it connected right up.
