Audio stuttering on CD playback

I have a new 8887 and it is great, but I'm having a lot of trouble with audio playback of CD's stuttering. I think there must be some bios setting or something that is wrong, but I have tried a lot of different combinations without success. Anyone have any ideas?

My 8886 stutters if I try and pause a cd while playing. It does this with Windows Media and Music Match. Any thoughts?

Dunno about OS, but XP has digital audio playback by default, go into device manager, click DVD/CD ROM devices, double click the CD drive, choose properties tab, and uncheck "Enable Digital CD Audio"
