well i think we mobility 9700 users can think in putting then has a museum with the launch of 3dmark 2005.. oh well we can allways admire a good looking slide show

That's always the case when they release a new one. Even desktop cards will choke on it. It's far ahead of the new games on purpose.

Maybe if running 3DMark05 is all you plan to do with your notebook. The ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB runs all the latest games without any problems and that's what counts in my book

3DMark 2003 didn't run well on *anything* when it came out, either. What would be the point of not including state of the art technology in a benchmark program that has to last for 2 years? Most of the current graphics card aren't supposed to be able to handle the new version well. If you just want to enjoy the scenery, they usually have a demo (video) included

First install Bittorrent:
http://bittorrent.com/download.html

And get the 3DMark05 bittorrent file from here (Download Mirror #3 - (BitTorrent)):
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=874

The more that do this, the faster everyone will get to download 3DMark05 that's now out

1482 3DMarks & 2876 CPU Score on my first try (not very smooth)
Hehehe, 1454 3dMarks & 3268 CPU score. Man, that really does bitch spank us doesn't it snorre? I think i maxed at 11 FPS at one point! w00t! :-)

Not bad. Pentium M's seem to get much lower results. But let's wait for the first results from a Dell 9100/XPS with Mobility Radeon 9800.

3dmark 05 seems to require a lot of VRAM, no surprise. 64 MB cards choke up and end up below 1000 limit. 128 MB cards will only make above that. 256 MB MR 9800 is probably quite strong here.
Well, here's my first run with the XPS and mr9800. 2684 3Dmarks
Still somewhat a slideshow though. Averaging about 12 fps

867 3d Mark / 2101 CPU.

Looks like 64Meg is a tight bottleneck...
