3Dmark can't be used to compare real game performance.
Test the following: 3DMK05 on a A64 and an Intel (comparable machine speeds) and look at the results, similar or a slight advantage for the Intel.
Now run games like Doom3, UT2004, etc.. on those same machines and your A64 will be all over them.
