Here is another tweak(soft of). It's really just a setting change for those of us who want a completely clean desktop(this is assuming you have a XP style start menu.), and can't get rid of that recycle bin
First thing you should do is click and drag your recycle bin to the standard programs section in your start menu(Section above the most commonly used programs). Put it here just incase you need to access it at some future point, because it will be difficult other wise.
Now go to Start->Run
and type Gpedit.msc hit enter
Then under User Configuration
click on Administrative Templates
when you click on Desktop, to the right it should show several polices. Double click on Remove recycle bin from desktop
Then select Enable and the click on ok. Exit out of it all and that’s it. The next time you restart the desktop will be clear. Now if you set the Star menu bar to auto hide and have no other icons on your desktop, its clear. People will look at your computer and try to figure out what is going on.
