2659 Is the exact same score I got with the Omega's actually. I'm doing OC'ing tests now, but we may just have to wait for Patje to get off his butt and add the 9800 to the Mobility Modder, whenever that will be. ;0) I am REALLY not happy with the way you control directX 3d/OpenGL performance in the Omega drivers. It's clunky, it's crappy, and it's confusing.

Update: After upping my Core/Memory on the MR9800 to 425/350, and putting Texture preference and Mipmap detail level both on High Performance, I got 3133. That's more like it, but I don't think I should have to overclock that high to get that kind of number. Hmm...

damn.....my 9800 is stock and not heat modded, do you think that OC is safe to run? I'm kind of scared messing with things like that.
WEll mine isn't either, but I monitor my heat using I8kfangui a lot. It usually gets to about 65-66C when playing heavy games, but no higher. My room is warmer, so it would probably be cooler then that too. I usually run at 400 Core/350 Memory, and that's very safe.

Thanks for the great info, just set up settings the same as you and rerunning 3Dmark. I'll post the results in a few minutes.

Just scored a 3100 with your changes Corvus. At least its over 3000. I'd love to know how some people on here are getting up in the 3200-3300 range?!??!
If I saw correctly, they had the EE edition. I'm not so sure about that '3800-ish' score, I have to admit, I'm taking that with a grain of salt. I just don't see how that's possible on these machines. It must be because Whackamac was using the new beta Catalyst drivers. I wish he would share with us how he got them installed. -.-

1101 with a 9600 pt. grrrrrr

Just be aware when you mod the ini, if you have the mr9700 or the mr9800. :0)

Scores in sig. Does this seem like my 9700 is perfoming a little slow?

I went in and manually modified the driver. it was quite the beeatch
post #52 of 143
I had to go in to a bunch of files and changed the standard x800 settings (name, device id, etc) to reflect that of my card. After a night of hell it finally installed.
Ahh, neato Mr. Hacko. :0) Do you think your much higher numbers are due to the newer driver? Or just your mad tweaking?

My specs om my inspiron are
2.8 p4
1 gig ddr 333( no not 400)
9700 non overclocked

Still, 1984 3dmarks with my setup? Seems way off.
