I've been running my 8790 off a DI-624 router succesfully for months, using router-assigned IPs. Today I tried to establish static DHCP, and every time the laptop stops communicating.
It sees the network, but simply won't connect.
Tried turning off all wireless encryption, etc. (made it an open network) and that had no effect.
Also double-checked my MAC address in the router, cloned it to establish static DHCP, etc.
Tried rebooting, of course. Tried turning off all firewalls.
Has anyone else had success with this? Is is some setting which Windows XP wants to control instead of letting Gigabyte's control panel do it?
To my understanding, I shouldn't have to change any XP settings. It should receive the IP automatically from the server just as it has always done, only it will be fed the same IP every time now.
