it's super nice.. And you'll love that screen. =)

wow isn't 1330 a bit pricy for that? or am i missing something here?
its probably because of the Windows XP Pro...that tacks on another 100 dollars doesn't it?
i thought the base with the standard battery was around 1100 or 1050? maybe it was a one time deal and dell raised the prices?

the only options I have bumped up is from 30 gb to 40 GB and from XP Home to XP Pro and 1 year on site services. thats it. probably would have been near $1100 ish without all those little bit bumping up options. used coupons ( 20% ) and 3% for using dell card thing. so I dont think its too bad. plus I will get $49 mail in rebate

It was a deal when we bought our computer. 15% off, all those upgrades he has, AND 200 dollar rebate.

also I forgot to mention. I added couple of software titles during check out progress such as spysweeper ( 40% off ) so I thought go for it. and also I got the dell memory key thingy ( USB port I think ) black color too. so I will know more about it once its here. but I can always do several calls to sales rep and haggling to get best deal out of it.

that's not a bad deal. I have a Sandisck 256mb USB Flash Memory Keychain device, but I wish I had a Dell. Dell is one of the few that you can create a bootdisk on. I got pretty much the same thing, except I got a DVD+RW drive, but less memory, and smaller HDD and paid about the same.

sounds like a great deal! Enjoy the unit. I only wish the screen was maybe at 13 incher and dell used the extra space on the side to widen the keyboard a bit.

I ordered mine on Sunday (1.6/512/30G). It went through kitting, building and testing in one day, and it's been in boxing since Monday.

Oh well, it will be here mid-next week.

Man I ordered mine on Tuesday, Oct 19, and it's still not even in kitting stage. In fact ordered two, one for my wife and one for myself.

This waiting is killing me. How long do you expect it'll take?

You paid for spysweeper? You know you can d/l a free trial version that never expires off their website right? And if they have more def'n, just uninstall, d/l a new free trial version.

Superfire,

I used the $750 off $1500 coupon.

Inspiron 700m
Intel 725 (1.6)
512mb ram
30gb hard drive
CDRW/DVD
Extended Battery.

Will that affect it? I called that 800 number and did order status where I was informed that it's currently in BUILD stage, whereas online, "In Production" is in blue, but none of the four items below, Kitting, Build, Testing, Boxing are highlighted (they're greyed out with no check mark". Even In Production doesn't have a checkmark.
