You mean the 6600 gt isn't available yet for the agp its pci-e based? I guess I will have to wait too then for an agp version.

what do you reccomend for me to do if i want to overclock my vid card? what do i use? what settings should i put it at? or should i just leave it alone?
i suggest the omega drivers, but if you use the latest drivers, make sure you can get the 2.5.44 versions because the latest drivers have problems with video playback. the 2.5.44 work with playback however you lose performance that the latest drivers provide

How bout Powerstrip?
i think radlinker is preferred over powerstrip, it's included in the catalyst and omega drivers
post #9 of 41
I'm not even gonna try '05... it's going to be a massacre for my 5690
post #10 of 41
and if u download "artifact tester" that will stress you video card and tell you if it detected any artifacts,,those things that occur when the card overheats... If it doesnt detect any, then you didnt overclock enough

p.s. i have the 8890 too and i dont bother... but you're free to do what you wish because more than enough others have done it.. I tried it a while back with powerstrip, but i like to keep my laptop cool, not quality driven. In hindsight, i am not a laptop kinda guy and never should have gotten one...

I just have to do it. Just waiting for the download to complete. This should take a day.
Yeah, I'ts dling for me too. Dagnabbit fileshack!! stupid 100k/s limit! I'm gonna look around for a faster mirror.
1439. Damn that was choppy. There were points were the frame rate was 1 fps!
wow. 1?
Yeah. Great graphics though. My score isn't shabby though for the gpu.
yeah, I think through the whole balloon section and starwarsesque cpu tests, i was averaging about 1 fps. And my cpu was at 84*C when the program ended.

1415 3dmarks though.

w/ 3200+

I overclocked to 499/259, running Omega 4.5's DX9c (duh) and I got 1472. No artifacts, no lockups. Not even have an external fan blowing on it. I would go higher, but now it's 3:15 and it's bedtime!
wow, i'm only 100 marks off from your score when i clocked mine up, i could probably go higher with some more vid tweaking, and a faster cpu, but i think they were saying it's not an overall system benchmark (real world), it just tests the GPU. i have to figure out how to get 1300+, hopefully sager will offer a PCI-E Athlon 64 upgrade path for my 8890
post #19 of 41
I got a 1590 with a clock speed of 500/300. I'm going to pust it further when i get home from school.
wow, i heard somewhere that the memory didnt like to be pushed over 270 or so. 300mhz, jeeze, that's stinkin fast!
no artifacts?
