Have you ever been typing a long post to the forum, or some other online form, and ended up losing it due to a dropped internet connection or some other catastrophe before you got it posted? It has happened to me so many times, including today, that I have started using Word with autosave enabled to type posts and then cutting and pasting them into the post box. Well those days are over for Firefox users who can now DL an extension called Scribe.
Scribe is a Firefox extension that lets you save a post or other form entry that you’re working on as a XHTML file on your HD as you’re typing. That way, if it accidentally gets deleted, you can reload it into the form and resend it; no more lost posts!
Although it’s an extension instead of a program, I find its usefulness good enough to warrant it a 5-Star rating and officially add it to the list of 5-Star programs. Subsequently, here’s still another reason to retire your IE based browser and switch to Firefox with its multitude of useful extensions which I think deserve reviewing. Thus, I hope that other members will post some of their favorite Firefox extensions as well since they are such outstanding little programs and there are so many outstanding ones that are worth covering.
