So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...

Is this a good score for a stock Area-51m after a defrag, disk cleanup, virus scan, spyware scan and all the settings set for performance?
3DMark05 Score : 1135
You should be getting around 1300/1400 with the ATI 9700. the 9600 are getting around 1000/1100. Try updating your drivers to the 8.05 from Alienware.com.

I am using the 8.05 Alienware ATI drivers. That's what I used for the test. Hmmm, maybe I have to turn off running processes like Norton or something.
Do you have POWERPLAY enabled? Also check Direct 3D check Custom Settings and turn the main settings to performance and texture performance to high performance mipmap detail level to high performance thin do the same on the openGL settings. Have not over clocked and have 3500 in 3dmark03 and 1349 in 3dmark05.
O.k. So I disabled Powerplay and put the checked the Direct 3D Custom Settings and turn the main settings to performance and texture performance to high performance mipmap detail level to high performance and did the same on the openGL settings. However all I got was a +12 point increase. WTF? I wonder if Alienware really gave me a 9600 instead of a 9700 or something!
^^ thats really weird. Make absolutely sure you have processes turned off, you looked in the task manager right? When i turned everything to performance and oc'd a little i got the scores in my signature. Without oc i got around 1350.

It sounds to me like you do have an MR9600 I would give Alienware a call on Monday if you did get an MR9600 they will send you out an MR9700 by the next day. Won’t be the first time something like that happened.
Those are MR9700 speeds. An MR9600 would most likely be frying at that core speed. The score is high enough that I'd say it's not a hardware problem, but look at your system's software; drivers for everything, what's running in the background, etc.
i have a P4 3.0GHz, 1024MB RAM, and NVidia GeForce Go5600. Ran 3DMark05 and the highest i have gotten is 243. that score seems really low to me. is it normal?
