A lot of people ask a lot of similar questions, and I think that a faq needs to be made! I plan on covering the current line of sager models, their
strengths, weakness, and there intended owners. There is essentially a sager for everyone and I hope that this convinces people of that! I will cover the current market and upcoming models. And eventually I would like to cover some advanced forum controls.
*I will start with the 9860 sager. This is a 13 pound, 1.95" laptop, 17" and most importantly pci-express ugradeable graphics processing unit (gpu). It
also uses the rather hot processor P4 Prescott, so it is equiped with at least 3 or 4 fans. This laptop will be available sometime between october-
november, most likely the middle of the month, since that seems to be sager's release strategy of late. This is a dtr so it is meant for people who want to use it as a desktop replacement (not move it around much). Even though it is 13 pounds it is still lighter than a 30 pound laptop and 12 pound lcd! The prescott has a 1024 mb l2 cache as well. This is should be more powerful than the dell 9100 with the ati 9800 as well, so this will be the ultimate gaming laptop. It can have 2 hard drives or cd/dvd-rw drives.

The 9860.
*The predecessor of the 9860 is the 8790, which is a lighter than the 9860. Its graphics card is deceptive. It says a 256 mb ati 9700. This won't improve benchmarks, but it can be overclocked quite safely due to its excellent cooling. A lot of graphic designers and artist have bought this due to its
graphics card and excellent 17" widescreen. One downside is that its expensive, but the price is already lower than it was 3 months ago. This is a very popular notebook, but don't expect to get more than 1+ of battery. The processor can't adjust cpu clock cycles like the pentium m and athlon 64 can. Also of note it can have 2 hard drives and they can be in RAID form.

The 8790
*The 5690 an affordable gaming laptop which currently features the highest stock clocked gpu (runs the fastest) due to its cooling. The only weakness that it seems to have is that its 15" nonwidescreen (actually could be seen as a plus for gamers!) It can also have 2 hard drives but it can't use RAID like the 8790 and 9860 can (I have heard that RAID isn't reliable on the laptop anyway.)

The 5690
*The 4790 is a stripped down 8790 which used to have heat problems in previous models. Nobody seems to own this model though so not much is known about it. Any information would be gladly welcomed. The 4750 and 4790 were released at the same time, but the 4750 was much more popular.

The 4790
*The 4750, an afforable 64 bit computer which is great for gaming. Most owners of it tend to be college students. It has a few heat problems but sager has taken care of that with software modification for the fans. It also benches really nicely too. Its the cheapest 17" sager you can get and packs quite a punch. 2 hour battery life is possible too with it, which is very impressive due its size. Any additional info on it just ask me about. Great for rendering 3d graphics and able to use 64 bit linux.

The 4750
*The 3790, Sager's answer to the Compal Cl56 thin and light laptop! This is a very popular laptop which has caused some controversy in the past months. It is probably the best all around sager for most consumers, although its pentium m processor isn't as strong as athlon 64 or p4 in rendering and other cpu intensive tasks. It also get 5 hours of battery life when web browsing using the optional 12 cell battery. This laptop is also rather overclockable and is great for gaming. It is 6.6 pounds with the 6 cell but around 7 pounds with the 12 cell. It is available in 1280x800, 1600x1080, 1900x 1200 resolutions.

*The 1280, Sager's Ultra light. It features a 12" widescreen, integrated graphics, and 5+ hours and its under 5 pounds! This is a great notebook for class where you don't have access to wall outlets and should be very quiet. Its size is also ideal for traveling on planes. It feature a pentium m processor.
