My 3dMark2001 and 3dMark05 results on Asus M6BNe

Thread Starter
Hey,
I benchmarked my Asus M6BNe using both stock ATI and Omega 4.5 drivers (I know it is a bit out of date but I tried to use a more stable version). Decided to keep the stock ATI for they have no problems for DVD playback.
Also used ATITool and RadLinker to OC my 64 9700.
The default settings were:
Core 391.50 and Memory 209.25
I OCed the gpu to Core 459.00 and Memory 243. This is way below the max values I could get out of ATITool (with no artifacts) but I am no gamer so there is no sense to push the card any more than this. I OCed the gpu mostly for the heck of it.
The cpu was set at MAX Performance.

With Stock ATI drivers and the above OCed settings, I got:
3dMark2k1 - 11594
3dMark05 - 730

For the Omega 4.5:
3dMark2k1 - 11831
3dMark05 - 738

With the stock ATI drivers and stock/default gpu settings I managed to get:
3dMark2k1 - 10294 (and also ~10400, at times)
3dMark05 - 731

Please note that the 3dMark05 scores almost haven't changed at all. This is the latest benchmark util from FUTUREMARK which seems to stress the hell out of the gpu and is more applicable to gpus more advanced than ati 9700.
Hope this helps toclear a few things about the gpu in the Asus M6BNe.

Oh, and the system temps didn't change at all. I suspect the battery life will deteriorate a bit but I am still to test by how much.

Interesting. I just tried the same clock settings on my WSXGA M6Ne and got 11,959 for 3DMark01 and 882 for 3DMark05, with the stock drivers that came with the computer. So I guess the higher res screen doesn't affect performance.

I tried 500/220 on my Raddy 9700 and I got a score of 1450, 3th A64/Mob 9700 in the orb

It doesn't affect performance when you're not using it Crank up the test resolution and run it again, you'll get a much, much lower score. By default everyone tests at 1024x768 (which is relatively low).

If everyone used their own resolutions, it would be impossible to compare the results.. this is why everyone just sticks with the defaults

True of course. I'm also not a gamer, but I am curious about the differences between mine and Mr Zlatanov's scores given we have exactly the same configuration. The 3d01s are close enough not to bother, but the 3D05 is different enough to wonder why.

Any thoughts?

Memory (both VRAM and system memory) and AGP performance is the key for a good 3DMark05 score, and it seems like all Centrino based notebooks perform poorly in this regard... I got 1482 with 3DMark05 on my Acer Ferrari 3200, btw.
