Shinza 12 in Zeroshock Sleeve for 700M Finally Here !!!!!

First of all, I love it. The color is not that great. It looks a duller gray in real life. I recommend getting the black one. But if fits both the 4 cell and 8 cell battery.

Here is just the case open

8 cell battery open

The long wait was worth it. the cushion is awesome just like those pillows and beds you see at Brookstone at the malls. It conforms to the shape and after the pressure is released, it returns to its original state.

Now drop a bowling ball on it

I need to thank yooeu for showing me how to post these pics.
Thanks

I will drop a bowling ball when I get home.

how well does it fit though?

it looks pretty tight with the 8Cell battery...kind of like my vaio sleeve. Try putting a piece of glass in there, and drop something heavy on it. Lets see if that was "false advertising".

btw...I like that color. I think it matches the laptop pretty well.

ya know, i'd hate to say it, but with the 8 cell the unit does look kinda ugly

With the 4 cell battery, the sleeve fits well, but there is still space left inside. the laptop does not slide around though.
with the 8 cell, it's a nice snug fit.

xarthan, do you mean, the laptop itself looks ugly. Yeah, it looks way ugly, i hate how it sticks out so much. Even with just the 4 cell, why does it have to be like that. oh well, i still love my laptop and now i can take good care of it.

If i find a piece of glass, i'll try the test.

Now I just have to get rid of my gap bag.

Yes, the 15" large size fits the 8600, it even says it on the page for that size. I ordered one on monday and received it yesterday. They shipped it the same day which was great. Too bad my 8600 isn't being delivered till next week though.

PM me and let me know how much you want to sell your shinza for!
I ordered a grey one Yesterday becasue I think it just fits the silver 700m better. Thanks for the ics, can't wait to get mine. BTW The handle that pulls out of it, would you trust it ?
The handle is good for pulling it out of a bag and maybe carry it, but case starts to strech when carried by the handle.

govtcheez, i was sorta kidding with the shinza but if i sold it, i would only sell it for the full price, sorry. But for the gap, i guess i'll put it on ebay.

Hmmm someone said it fits the 8600 ...

From the dimensions IM reading on Shinza's webpage
"Large" dimensions (please measure your notebook and compare to interior figures!)

* Exterior (W x D x H): 15.0 x 1.0 x 13.0 inches (380 x 25 x 330 mm)
* Interior (W x D x H): 13.8 x 1.8 x 11.4 inches (350 x 45 x 290 mm)

the Interior is only 13.8 x 11.4 ...

but the Dell 8600 is listed as this on Dells webpage

Chassis
15.4-inch Wide-Aspect WXGA, SXGA+ and UXGA displays:
Height: 1.52-inch (38.6 mm)
Width: 14.22-inch (361.2 mm)
Depth: 10.79-inch (276.1 mm)
Weight: starting at 6.9 lbs. (2.96 kg) with travel module, 9-cell battery and hard drive1

So could someone please -- verify if they have tried to put an 8600 in the Zeroshock sleeves as I dont want to buy one and have to resell it on Ebay right away..

I said it fit the 8600 and also said that their webpage specifically states that as well. On that same page where you were able to find it's dimensions, it states: "Large size fits notebooks such as the Dell Inspiron 8600." I doubt there is a large conspiracy on the part of that retailer to screw customers over by stating a certain laptop fits when it really doesn't.

Several people on this forum have also stated that the 8600 fits well. The material stetches some to fit the laptop.
