Not a single thing I said was fabricated though. Now the availability of games...that sucks. But that's why I have expensive PS2's...namely my desktop and XPS

personally i am very curious and eager to see what alienware pulls out of their hat with the upcoming ALX-m. It's not a substitute for the Area 51-m line but a whole new exclusive line of portable computers. You can't beat that extraterrestrial theme though!

Yeah Alienware has very interesting ideas but they are just prohibitively expensive especially when you can build your desktop. But their laptops traditionally have been subpar. Sure they look flashy but I am interested what they cook up next for their alx-m. But speakin of features check out www.go-l.com

As for the mac lover here my message meant no disrespect. ITs just that considering prices it is not enuf justification for me to get a mac....hmm now their cinema displays are something compltely different........drools......wow

None taken. The Macs are hard to beat on DVD and Video Authoring...which is why I use mine. I have enjoyed my XPS tremendously though. While it doesn't have Final Cut Pro, Motion, or DVD Studio Pro...it does everything else just as good and in alot of cases better than my Powerbook. Now my dual G5 vs. my 3ghz P4...well, I'am glad the P4 has a 6800 Anyway...on to the Alienware vs. Dell. I dig their desktops, the laptops bore me however.

Can't you do DVD and video authoring now just as well with a pc as an Apple? I realize a few years ago Apple was the only way to go for video editing but anymore with the current generation of editing software isn't the PC equally adept in this task? Just kinda regurgitating a thought from one of the bigger Mac supporters out there (Leo Laporte). Somethin I think I heard him say on TechTV. But is this true? Peace,

Well I mean mac has a lot of awsome add on hardware that for some stupid reason the rest of the pc world have yet to come out with. Macs are truly revolutionary...if only Steve Jobs opens up a bit and lets the rest of the world use his add on gadgets and gizmos and his OS then we will be set!!! Come on Stevie!!

Sure, you can do video editing on a pc...fairly well too. Programs such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects are sweet. Final Cut Pro...well...it's just better for my uses. It has more options and I have yet to find a DVD authoring program as advanced as DVD Studio Pro for under $500. I'am a big mac supporter, but I'am not a PC bashing idiot. I have no loyalty to any manufacturer or platform. What works best for me, that's what I go with. I love my Powerbook and XPS! One thing I do have over the XPS with my powerbook: I have a car charger..nah nah nah

Currently, I have a Dell. For my next unit, I'm going to go for the one with the best performance/price/service ratios, based on my own criteria. I like my Dell, but if someone else comes up with a better deal on the rig I want, I'll go for it. It's not up to me to be loyal to a company; it's up to them to earn my loyalty. AW folks like their units, Dell folks like there units.....super. It's always good to get actual information about the other brands, but "my rig is more gooder than your rig, you big poopy doo-doo head", is a waste of bandwidth. I don't want everyone to just get along; that would be boring but if we're going to critisize, let's try to be creative.

I agree 100%. I got what gives me the best bang for the buck, options, and performance. With the exception of the Powerbook of course..lol.
