Possible New Model (another) for Sentia

Hey you guys-
Just was searching around and revisited Uniwill's homepage. There's another new version of a 14.1 inch centrino lappy. This new model has a bunch of cool stuff that the other 14.1 inch model didn't have, but the new one does- like the 4-1 reader etc. I have an old model area 51m and have been looking at the sentia b/c i'm a commuter student. I have read that many of you guys would like the 14.1 inch screen better and I feel that there would be a market for both screen sizes.

What do you guys think? Is there a market? Would you offer both sizes? and do you think Alienware will offer a second centrino lappy (maybe even this new model)?

Just was wondering- you guys are great!

If sales of the 12.1 inch puppy arent going so well, i think they would make the switch. Alienware doesnt want to be the average joe, and I think people would enjoy a packed, yet portable sexy-looking laptop with a 14 inch screen. I know I would. I think they should offer both for more flexability, and if sales still lack for the 12.1 inch screen, phase it out.

the 12.1" screen will most likely continue to be the standard.

The new Sentia is a subnotebook...not a notebook.

I hope the 12.1 inch contines, that way it will weigh less

I would go for a 14.1 inch Sentia if it had that nVidia MXM technology

I don't want to see a heavy duty GPU in the Sentia...it defeats the purpose. The Sentia is built for battery life which an X600 would kill.

I'm talking about the MXM-I from nVidia which is designed for thin and light note books, it has 1/2 the power consumption of the MXM-III. I dont consider a heavy duty GPU, I mean it can only have up to 128 MBs Ram, which 256 is looking like it is going to be the standard soon.

Even MXM1 will draw more than a regular onboard solution.

The Sentia just doesn't need anything more. Its a subnotebook...not a notebook.

And it's a perfect subnotebook......I love it!

huh, I didnt know that

Hey Craig I got an Idea, what if they offered the 12.1 inch Sentia with the same integrated graphics card, AND offered 14.1 inch Sentia with the MXM Technology. That way AW has 3 Laptop Choices (hopefully a new name would come about for the second one though). So there is the powerhouse, the Area-51m. The 14.1 inch Sentia with MXM, which would weigh a little more than the 12.1 inch but still be light, and have a slightly shorter battery life (or the same if the batter is made bigger since the overall system is bigger) and still offer the 12.1 inch as AW's small lightest laptop...

or is that a bad idea?

I just that that would be a good idea because it can increase selection available, and in total there are more total options to select from

So AW's Laptop line up would be like so...
Are-51m, the total powerhouse that owns in terms of performance

Sentia 1 the 12.1 inch the AW answer to the thin and light community

Sentia 2 the 14.1 inch a great balance between performance and mobility

MichaelX30-

that's what i was getting at--- but don't forget about the fourth laptop- the AMD chip based...

hmmmmm.... AMD!!! Don't AMD Processor own the battery though? I mean it'd be great for gamers, but I heard the battery life is real low.
