mobility R9600 vs. R9700

I want to buy notebook and deciding between Asus M6887Ne and Asus W1779Na. Both are 2.0 Dothan with 1024 MB of RAM and 80 GB 5400 HDD, DVD-RW and so. So what is my problem? I prefer to buy W1779 but I am little worried because of R9600 that is implemented in this one. M6887Ne has R9700. So can somebody tell me what is real difference between R9600 and R9700??? I am not a gamer but sometimes I play 3D Games. Please tell me your opinion

MR9700 and MR9600 have the same feature and capabilities in terms of graphic goodies. MR9700 is just a new part built with a better semiconductor process, and hence it's clocked faster. If you need to save money and the MR9600 is cheaper, then go that route. But I suggest you get the MR9700 since you're getting a nice CPU in the Dothan 2.0Ghz. Why pair it with anything slower?

yeah get the MR9700

no offence dude but ur stupid to buy a 2.0 dothan.. the 1.8 is 100$ cheaper n is quite similar in performance..

n if the 9600 is pro the diff wont be that much

Please don't get 2.0 Dothan. As Eddiez said, 1.8 is almost identical with 2.0. Same core, but clock differently. 1.7 -> 1.8 has better improvement than 1.8 -> 2.0.

I Live in Slovakia (Europe :-) and don't have 1.8 Dothan option. I am planning to use this notebook for about 3-4 years so don't want to buy 1.7. I was thinkink about graphic card: after half a year both R9600 and R9700 will not be enough to play newest games - so I think I will buy W1779Na :-)

The bottom line is there's not much difference.

How can you call someone stupid for wanting to spend their money a certain way? or are you just jealous. I think it is the latter.

Ontop of that, he's not asking for your opinion on CPU, he's asking about the GPU.

And lastly, how can you call someone stupid when you can't even spell "offense" correctly?.

Look in the mirror one of these days bud.
