just bought a gig of ram

Sell your 256 on ebay and use itfor another upgrade down the road. Thats what I do, sell spare parts or whatever and when I have enough built up, i look at it as a free upgrade : )

Another forum-er clued me on on this one.... though it's been on backorder. A nice thing about Outpost is no restocking if it doesn't work. Mr. Cheese, yer 8600 takes same ram as moi M60, so drop me a PM report when you get that NewEgg stuff installed.

Newegg will waive the restock fee 99% of the time if you call them and speak with a polite voice.
