They said that these have solved the video playback issue

Along with the new bios revision for the 8790 I am not having problems with the new omegas 2.5.90.

yep, work well

I haven't seen the AI feature yet? How do you activate it?
to activate the AI feature(on by default), display properties, settings, advanced, Clock settings tab you'll see a 3d tab click there you should see the AI setting.

I still have the playback problem on my 5680.

I installed them on my desktop and a quick 3dmark2001se confirmed the performance gain (20300 to 22900 score) . I installed them on my 8887 and saw a performance decrease (7500 to 5700 score)

I'll run it again tonight to make sure it wasn't a one-time glitch. Has anyone duplicated those results ?

8887 uses a DX8.0 card. These new drivers are optimized for DX9.0 - perhaps this is why you have a poorer score.

Cheers!

I reran the benchmark with same bad results. I went back to my old drivers and got back the better benchmarck scores. Could be that these drivers do not suit the M9 well.

I checked esupport and they said I have the latest bios (July 2004) on my 5690. I still have the video playback issue with the new drivers. Anyone else with a 5690 and a later bios or with no video playback problems? I am using 3 versions back of Omegas and the video is fine.

Thats the same with me
I can't wait till the playback is fixed, everything else is slower with these older drivers (games )

Dont use a synthetic benchmark to analyze driver performance. Use real life programs and use it over several days to understand how it affects the system stability. 3D Mark is to be used once - with a graphics card - to understand what it is capable of - THATS ALL! Using it every time you change drivers borders on insanity and this is what drives these manufacturers to turn out tuned drivers every 10 days.

I am sick of this driver rush...

Before with the sager 8.04 drivers I could not resize a 300 dpi scanned walk cycle in after effects 6.5. It would keep saying I had an opengl error. But with these, it worked great. Also counter strike source runs much smoother.

I got the latest bios and omega drivers installed last night on my Eurocom d500p. It made a huge improvement over the old omega's I was running in games and the videos actually play now!!!

I tried that omega driver on my new 3790 and my screen went all kinda crazy on startup. Maybe I got the wrong one. Is there a different ati driver for 9700 mobiles? Anyway, could you post the link Firus?

I have a 5690, just reinstalled windows and installed the latest Omega drivers, but i can only set my monitor refresh rate at 60. How can I fix this? I used to be able to get 85 or something.
Laptop screens can only be driven at 60hz. If you need to set an external monitor to a different refresh rate, read the readme.txt file - it says: "Install the included Multires utility to have access to ALL the available resolutions in the Omega Drivers..."
no, i got it working just by setting it to show all settings, not just ones that are supported, so now running at 85. I ran at 85 before with Sager's drivers.
