Hi,
I'm loving my new sager... however.... I bought it through work and they ordered the 80gb 5400 rpm drive instead of the 60gb 7200rpm I requested. (I want performance over storage space.) Anyway, I went out and bought a 60gb 7200rpm drive, replaced the 80gb one, and reinstalled windows. BUT NOW my benchmarks are a lot lower (especially in the pcmark2004 / 2002 hard drive tests). How can this be???
The only thing I could think of is that since technically this is run on a scsi card (right??) and I didn't press "F6" when starting the windows install to install the 3rd party raid / scsi drivers. (For the record, I'm not running a raid setup, just one drive with one partician.) Would that have fixed the problem? Should I reinstall windows that way? If so, where can I get the scsi drivers? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
have fun,
dave
