Broken Compaq LCD....what are my options

I tripped on the power cord and the laptop took a spill. The screen is damaged so bad you cannot see anything but cracks. It is a 3 year old Comaq Presario that can't be worth more than $400-$500. Can I get a replacement LCD or should I just junk it?

Thanks, Steve

BTW: I just ordered a eMachines m6811 to replace it

Junk it, I'm afraid. The screen replacement would probably cost more than the system is worth.

just for the hell of it, does anyone know where I could even find a replacement screen?

Look for a screen on e-bay. That's your best option. Aside from that, connect it to an external monitor and it will run fine. You can also sell it for parts on e-bay if you just want to get rid of it.

Thats where I go for older compaq/hp/dell parts.

Sometimes they have what you need. HTH
