It's just a tiny bit faster than an MR9700. However, the graphics card being PCI-E does not mean that it's upgradabl at all. PCI-E is just an interface like AGP. In fact most non IGP GPU have been using a daughtercard design since the days of the Ati M128 but most manufacturer have not jump on the upgrade idea. Basically it all depend on the weither the manufacturer is willing to go thru the trouble of offering upgrade (Alienware, Voodoo, etc).

My personal believe is that it's a waste of time and money. I will not pay $4000 for an Alienware that have maybe 10% better performance than a $2500 mainstream laptop just for the hope of being able to upgrade the GPU. I'll take the $2500 laptop now and buy another one in 2 year which will be lighter, faster, have better battery life than a 2 year old Alienware no matter how you upgrade it.
