sorry, i am new here. I would like to ask if low power, does it mean that it will have a longer battery life ? and if i want to upgrade the ram to 1G then roughly how much extra would have to pay ?

Is the FERRARI 3400 a good laptop ? meaning is it durable ? does it have lot's of problem ? as i am not a computer expert so i am afraid that there will a lot of problem and i couldn't handle it.

Hope that there will be someone that will answer all my question. thanks a lot.

Yes, it will have both better battery life and produce less heat.

Somewhere between $150 and $200 I guess.

Yes, the Acer Ferrari 3400 will definately be a good laptop like its predecessor. It's really a quality notebook with no known problems so stop worrying

Snorre the Acer Ferrari instigator
Snorre, thanks a lot....

then for laptop, will Intel Pentium be better or Amd Athlon ?

Is there any laptop that is better than FERRARI 3400 ?
and currently which laptop has the top spec <which have nearly the same weight as FERRARI 3400> ? and what is it price ?
The Acer Ferrari 3400 is the best bang for the buck type laptop.

1) It is ligher than most laptop with similar configuration
2) It host AMD64 processor
3) It has a sleek design and comes with a matching optical mouse
4) It is an ATI 9700 128MB video card

You will find a laptop with better video card, but you are looking at lugging something at least 3lbs more than it. You will find something with faster HD, but it compromise other features, etc.

Intel P4 isn't a very good option for laptops (heat + battery life), but Pentium-M is great. Has more battery life than AMD64, though the Ferrari 3400's low power version is starting to get close. At leat Acer promises half an hour more than the 3200 has.

my 3200 reads memorystick pro as well

so do you all think that acer is going to come out another new FERRARI laptop ? anytime soon or will be at lease another half a year ?

and also..... the FERRARI 3400 comes with only 512 ram.... and i want it to be upgraded to 1G ... do anyone know how and what kind of 512 ram should i buy in order to upgrade the ram ?
It'll be a while I think.

Hard to tell, but it wouldn't surprise me since AMD will be releasing even lower power and faster Mobile Athlon 64 processors within that timeframe. I can hardly wait for Lancaster

Corsair XMS3200 512MB sticks (part no. CMXSD512-3200LL) are really great:

Windows XP Pro 64 Edition, Longhorn

Anyone already running Windows XP Pro 64 Edition on your Ferrari (or your Sager)?

I'm interested in the "six-fo" chips and really curious about the driver issues relating to them under 64-bit usage...

Drivers? Applications issues?

Anyone actually testing any 64-bit Windows apps?

thx!
Windows XP Pro x64 Edition runs fine on my Acer Ferrari 3200. All programs run great, and I've also tested some 64-bit games and few freely available 64-bit apps and they also run very well without any problems. The only issue I know of is that 64-bit WLAN drivers are still missing, but all other drivers are available though.

64-bit WLAN drivers are still missing? Any that have wlan drivers, please tell me where to find that
