Screen size when gaming

I'm trying to figure out where I can adjust my gaming screen size so that I don't have to play a game stretched out on my 17". Can anyone assist?

I am running the ATI Raedon, if that helps.

It really depends on the game. If the game doesn't support custom resolutions then there is nothing you can do. Here is a link with a list of games that will point you in the right direction for setting custom resolutions.

There is a way to do this... go to your control panel then display. Click on the settings tab and click advanced. Next go to the displays tab and click on your monitor default: panel and then under panel attributes unclick the scale image to panel size... this should fix your gaming problem but it will not allow you to use the widescreen for games that do now support widescreen resolutions.
