Wanna Invest..

Hey all,

I may have seen this somewhere else, but I'm looking to buy the Sager 8790 for gaming and overall performance.

In general, what are the ups and downs of the laptop? I know one down could be, for example, the volume being computer controlled or the weight of the thing, or an up being the sheer power of the laptop.

I checked out the prices for the Dell XPS and any alienware laptop.. the price was a lil high for me..

Just trying to get an idea of what to look for.

FYI: I've had a Toshiba Satellite 1400 for about 3 years, and looking to trade up. Quick Specs: 1.2 GHZ Celeron, 16 MB Vid Card, CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo, 256 RAM, 30 GB HD.

Check out Mayaman2's "The Sager Guide", it'll tell you just about everything you need to know.

Did you find what you needed?

Ups: Great screen, screaming power, RAID 0 (space and performance)
Downs: Large, heavy, hot, poor battery life

yah, generally higher performance = bigger the monster is.

That's why i like pentium-m systems... they lack goodies like 'raid' and 'dual ddr' but they still pretty sweet performers, smaller sized, cooler, and better battery.
