IBM Thinkpad X31 (2672-5KU)
This IBM Thinkpad X31 was purchased in early July of this year (a little over 3 months old). It was purchased to replace an older X series that was too slow for my liking. I enjoyed the small size and weight of the X31, but my situation has recently changed an no longer need to carry the X31 with me any longer. Therefore I'm moving to a desktop replacement laptop which is more than double the weight - so I have no need to keep this laptop around any longer. My new desktop replacement will arrive next week, so I will be able to ship out this laptop by then (just need to transfer over my data). Here are the brief specs:
IBM Thinkpad X31 2672-5KU
IBM List price: $2249
Intel Pentium M 1.7 Ghz / 400 Mhz FSB
16 MB ATI Mobility RADEON AGP 4x
12.1" 1024x768 LCD
256 MB PC2700 RAM, UPGRADED to 768 MB
40 GB ATA-100 Hard Disk
802.11B Wireless with antennas built into LCD (ridiculously good range)
Gigabit Ethernet
4+ Hour Battery life (I've gotten as long as 6 hours with LCD turned all the way down)
Windows XP Pro
Only 3.6 Lbs!
THREE YEAR IBM Warranty! Expires 7/04/07 (let me know if you want the serial number to look it up for yourself on IBM's website)
I emphasize the warranty because this is the best part of IBM - their service is impeccable and the warranty is fully trasferrable. Service is so good they even replace your laptop with a newer one (usually of your choice!) if they can't fix it after 3 tries. But this is only if you need it - IBM's are built like tanks.
I chose the X31 since it has many advantages over the X40 - namely, a 2.5 in HD which can be upgraded (X40 has a 1.8" drive which is limited to 40 GB right now), not-integrated graphics which can run a few games just fine, and a more comfortable form factor (X40's palm rest is too short).
This laptop is in mint condition since I have babied it and kept it in a Timbuk2 laptop sleeve for all of its travels. Not even any scratches on the cover! Also, the original IBM factory restore partition is still intact so I will restore the hard drive to original condition. Here is what else is included:
Timbuk2 Laptop Sleeve for 12" laptop (Gray), original cost $50 (Timbuk2)
LaCie Slim Combo CD-RW designed by FA Porsche - original cost $150 (LaCie)

I am asking for $1200 shipped via insured USPS for the package, which I will only sell together. Paypal (from checking or balance) would be fine, and so would a cashier's check or money order. I would also be happy to do escrow for this laptop (through escrow.com), as long as the buyer agrees to split the fees with me.
It's been a while since I bought/sold on this forum but here is my feedback, as well as at other websites:
Heatware
Head-Fi

Feel free to PM or e-mail me with any questions.
