Turn of WMV hardware acceleration under the options tab in the advanced video options and then reboot. It should work... well, it "workedforme" :P

That worked, it will at least play wmv files, but still not ideal, won't play them fullscreen anymore. Oh well, here's to hoping fixes in a future release of bios or drivers.
