Gfx problem 8887

Ive searched, but couldnt find an answer. I am having trouble with stability in 3D games on my 8887. With the original drivers on the CD, they run OKish, simcity dies every 20 minutes, and after quiting any other game, I get a lockup.

Using the latest sagernotebook.com drivers, it just crashes sooner. I took a look at the omega drivers and it all ran pretty stable, problem is, it only applies the gamma and brightness settings if i leave the ati window open, it complains about not being able to complete the ati probe and cant tell 100% what card i have.

Does anyone have a correctly mobile patched set of omega drivers, or a link for something stable?

Noone at all has a problem with their 8887 and gfx card stability?

Ive just done a fresh winxp pro installation with all default settings and provided drivers, it still crashes.

Did all the BIOS updates, too? This is odd, as I do not get any crashes (except when I was playing Freelancer). Most all the other games are fine (BF 1942, Unreal2, Morrowind)...

www.s-seven.net is the one of the current favorites for M9 modded Cat3.5s. (Though as I write their site hosting service is in transition!) I'm using them just fine, though I've managed to mix-load the ATI Control Panel and have several duplicated tabs. I've used OmegaCorner and Neutral Catalyst previously, and can't complain. RadProbe from either just doesn't work on the laptop. My "only" problem with games (other than the noted, notorious Freelancer) has been pausing, and I'm still experimenting with settings and shutting off backgroud apps to smooth that out. Try to get the s-seven drivers when the site comes back.
