Acer TM292LCI graphics clock.

I own a Acer TM292LCI laptop with the following specs :-
Pentuim M 1.5 ghz,
15'' XGA Screen,
256 mb DDR 333 Ram,
DVD Rom / CD RW combo drive,
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 64 mb
40 GB HDD.

My graphics chip is running at 392/202. I came to know that MR9700 was designed for 445/270 so I was wondering if I could increase the speed of my chip upto that without any chance of damaging my system.

My MR9600Pro in a Presario R3000T stocks at 310/195, but thanks to the ATITool shipped with the Omega drivers, it's currently running at 360/250.

Overclocking shouldn't hurt anything as long as you're careful. I pushed mine up to 400 clock before it made the display go nuts. A reboot fixed the problem and I was back to stock speeds.

How far you can go depends on luck of the draw with your chip and how good the cooling is in your machine. Be warned that overclocking will shorten battery life and increase heat. Hotter parts are more likely to fail, so you're on your own there...

My recommendation: get ATITool (http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/) and use the Find Max features, then back it down 20MHz or so
