Anyone here checked out the new version of windows?

Windows XP Media Centre Edition?

I recently installed it but find its fairly hard to get it running with full functionality. Especially the TV part which is one of the major reasons i bought it.

I've found it exceedingly hard to find decent support in any form. Most forums i've visited are not very reliable and slow to respond.

anyways... let me know if there are others out there who've tried it as well.

And if you have any good places for info on it, send em this way

I was considering picking it up next year. nVidia has been touting it's TV Card as being one of the first devices to be approved for the Media Center Edition. I don't know any of the specifics of the OS though, like what the difference is between XP Professional and MCE.

I found the theme file for windows xp to make it look like mce 2005 with smoother start bar ( blue ) and differnet colours to start bar.

screeny

Screeny

requires no style xp or modded msstyles.dll

just unzip the zip file onto desktop should make a folder called royalle then put that folder into c:\windows\resources\themes

Will work from there and is available in display options where you select the color of the xp start bar...

Yeah the Royale theme is cool...

Well MCE 2005 is available retail.. I saw a copy for 130$.. I'm going to pick up one for the machine I'm building for my family, and I may pick up another one later no if I decide to build another one for myself.
