as far as i know this works for the NEC 8x 6100 drive, it flashes it to the 6500. i've done this myself, with no issues at all.
I found out the problem with the Region 2 DVD's. It is the Pal-True option in WinDVD which mutes the sound for some reason??? Ok my Laptop is from USA and DVD from Germany, and I thought this Pal-True option is right in this case...but well.
The Sound problem ist solved.
Thanks for your reply. You are right, it is not the way I thought it would be. That would be to good to be true, right?
But well, why do I need the DVD-R ? I mean I have the DVD+R so far and it works..whats the difference?
The only advantage I still see in flashing the Bios is to get rid of the Region limitation. But the software "DVD Region+Css Free" works fine so far and I heard about a new protection issue on the newer DVDs, which makes stop playing the DVD if the Bios is already Region free. hmmm so what do you say?
