Asus is going to be releasing a notebook that is supposed to be pretty light and small... with a 14 inch SXGA+ screen... while I am guessing it will be sold through proportable and discountlaptops (they usualy carry Asus notebooks).... portableone, run by Ivan, is the only place I know that has confirmed that they will carry that notebook.

Get the Sentia...

I've been looking for high end systems with specs same to that of the Sentia. I'm slightly concerned about the Sentia's lack of a independent graphics unit, as when Longhorn is released it might not be able to run on the Sentia.

I've found the Sony s270 which, while is 13.3" instead of 12" does come with a 64mb radeon 9700. The max ram on the system seems to be 1gig tho... And it doesn't have an S-video out...

Also a Toshiba tablet PC m200. It has a 32mb NVidia 5200, however it does not have any optical drive or an s-video out.

HP have a 12" with a 32mb radeon of some kind.. i'm not really into HP, so i didn't really look.

As you mentioned dell have a system which is the same again, but i'm not really into dell.

All the systems above meet the same hardware level, with the exceptions mentioned.

I hope this will at least give you some other options or ideas. Food for thought?

My advice between dell and Alienware - get Alienware, hands down. If not for any other reason, then because it looks sooo damn cool.

The Integrated Graphics Extreme 2 can Run Halo on 1024x768 High/High at 30 FPS if that helps any

Unless you really need the extra 20GB, I would get the Sentia with the faster 60GB, 7200rpm drive.

Well, with the new $750 coupon from Dell, it seems the choice has got to be the Dell. Unless price is absolutely no object.
Nope...that coupon excludes the Dell M700. Read the fine print

The 750 coupon was for everything this morning till it got overloaded. I got a 9100 and 700m ^^. It was so bad that they took the 9100 off the website.

if you go with the dell, be sure to get an extended warranty and completecare just incase if you drop it (i know i know - no one ever plans to drop it...)
