Pentium M vs Pentium 4 processor speed

I know that GHz for GHz, a pentium M processor is faster than a Pentium 4. But how fast? If I get a Pentium M at 1.6GHz, how fast is that in Pentium 4 speed? I'm trying to decide between getting an 8600 and a 9100 or 5160. Thanks!
