Ghost trailing?

I have a question on ghost trailing for LCD monitors. Recently I used MonitorDirect.com's monitor calibrator, and the Ghost Trailing test showed 2 streaks of red trails following the Moving box at certain areas, more specifically whenever the moving box rebounds off a screen side.

Does this mean I have ghost streaking? Also how does this affect the LCD screen or gameplay? I began noticing some ghost images appearing after playing Rome: Total War for long periods of time. Could it just be the monitor being overused?

Thanks in advance.

Ghosting is a result of the pixel response time.... it is perfectly normal and a constraint of LCD technology. The lower the response time, the less ghosting is noticeable. For example, the latest flat panel LCD monitors have response times of 12ms or even less, whereas the wide-aspect LCDs in the i8600 for example have a response time of 25ms, so its more noticeable.

The short story, don't worry about it.

The weird thing is i didnt see any ghosting when i first recieved my i8600. Now i see a trail of 3-4boxes each 5mm apart. Also the moving box in Monitor Calibrator slows down after 10seconds, and starts moving with very low frame rate.

The framerate of any game I play has been affected too. There's a noticable choppiness that didn't exist before. Finally when windows switchs to a black screen, such as on loadup, there's a noticable red colored print of the previous screen in certain areas of the screen.
