Well, I noticed that many of you really bashed the webcam... and ended up ignoring its presence. Really, it's a good piece of hardware. Like I said in my review, it just needs light at the right angle.
The picture below is unedited by any mean. Straight from the "take a picture" click.

I chose my GameCube case because its fabric has a texture. Also my keys have that keychain thing that has clear sap surrounding the seashells. The keys also have different gravel surface. As you can see, it's pretty decent at capturing the texture on the GameCube case. It even picks up the THREAD LINES on the sewing of the GameCube logo onto the case. I can see the seashells inside that tree sap keychain pretty well. Keys can easily be seen with its individual cuts.(especially my car key, and yes, my car key has almost like NO dents... lol it's like a straight rod!) Not to mention, it captured my hand pretty well. Also the color of my shirt is as you see it, it didn't distort it or make it weird color.(at least the brightest part of my shirt.)
This picture was taken with a single 13watt bulb desk lamp sitting right behind the camera mount.(the lamp pokes its head right above my lcd.) Think of a normal camera. It needs flash. Well, I simulated that with a decently bright desk lamp sitting right above the lense like a normal camera. 3 other identical bulbs are in the background in the corner there. As you may have noticed, it's not good at taking picture of the entire room because the single bulb behind the LCD is concentrating on the items infront of the lense. BUT, if you are in good lighting BEHIND the lcd, things infront of the lcd(or the lense) will be as good as in the picture above.
Since I only have one bulb behind the lcd, it can only concentrate on the object right in front of the LCD. This works well with me sitting in front of my laptop. It captures me well in my true clothing color, not distored or miscolored. This is especially useful when you want to show someone something through a digital picture. Like I just showed you guys EXACTLY how my GameCube case look.
So my point is that I still stand behind supporting this hardware. It's good stuff. Just need lighting.
Here's the tip straight forward if u didn't catch it: Put a light source right behind(of course looking over the lcd) the lense and have it concentrate on your target object. If too bright, tilt the light source upward to reduce amount of light hitting directly on the target object.
Also, the software that came w/ it is for taking video streams. To take individual picture, just go to "My Computer" and double click the digicam icon, it should have the "Take A Picture" clickable on the newly opened window with a preview screen.
NOTE: When I say 13watt bulb. I mean the 60 watt bulb equivalent. Ye know, the old standard bulbs. The 13watt is just an electricity conserving version.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: Just for comparision reference, here's a shot from my Logitech webcam from the Trio set. It has the same resolution as the Sager built in. This was taken during the day. Light everywhere. I couldn't get rid of the grainny effect... I can darken it, but the grain is still there... This is due to the "auto brightness adjustment feature" I hate it...

The image was not photoshoped for anything other than putting in the CENSORED signs. I had Spidey flip my friends off for me so I used this action figure w/ 46 points of articulation to flip him off for me.
BTW, 46 points of articulation Spidey rocks!

EDIT: The more light source directing AT the lense, the worst the image will get. BLACK BLACK. All you would see is a silhouette of the object.
