Freeware would be ideal.
2. How do I find out which wire to solder to which pin? Presumably there is a +V and a -V (0V) for power and a +data and a -data (you know what I mean
) - so which is which?
i use the targus software .. coz it's working with almost every finger reading device on usb .. the drivers are installing automatically from the microsoft windows update .. or if u have xp u should not have a problem
the pinout is simple ;] 1'st pin is +Voltage 2 pin is +data 3 pin = -data and 4 pin is the GND ... but i didn't soldered the cables in to the pins .. i soldered the Plastic female connector .. just like this which is behind the keyboard and behind the aluminium plate under the ram memory , the connector to connect the mainboard to a touchpad .. look there to see how it is soldered .. u must to do the same to the Switch Board.
and please .. dont be sarcastic .. with this "you know what i mean " - coz maybe my english isn't perfect . but that doesn't mean that im a dumbass or something . ..
and in my humble opinion .. the targus fingertip reader will not fit in the space .. ofcourse .. the "reading" square size matches the size of the switch board space .. but i think that the electronics supplied inside the targus will not fit in the space under the switch board .. if you'll make it work .. send the pictures. i want to see if it's the same as in mine ..
