Un-partition hard drive on Sony S Series

I was wondering how i Un-partition my new Sony Vaio S series hard drive

What programs do i use, if any?

Also, Sony hides 5 gigs of recovery stuff on the drive. I burned the recovery CDs but how do i get rid of the 5 gigs that is hidden away so i can have that space again.

partition magic will work

if you do a clean OS install you can zap all of the partitions that way as well

fdisk and format are free. I never used the recovery disks though. Hopefully they are bootable and odn't need access to the 5 gig partition.
