Just ordered my first notebook and a review about it is coming up as soon as it arives!

I ordered it at http://www.notebook-shop.de and have it shipped to the Netherlands, because they allow you to switch the hard disk and buy a docking station.

The specs:

Sony Vaio VGN-A297XP
- Intel Centrino 1.8Ghz (Dothan)
- 17" WUXGA X-Black LCD
- 1024MB DDR-RAM
- 80GB Hard disk, 5400 RPM (with 16MB cache)
- 64MB Radeon 9700
- DWD+-RW Double Layer Drive (8x/4x/16x/10x/12x/24x)
- Wireless LAN 802.11g
- Bluetooth
- Windows XP Professional
- Docking station
- Sony Funkmaus (it's ugly, but it's in the package )

I opted for the 80GB 5400 RPM with 16MB cache because it's more silent than the 60GB Hitachi and performancewise it is on par with the Hitachi (better at certain areas, worse at others, but on average they are pretty equal).

The price I paid was 2750 euro (Excl. VAT) and thats including shipping and pixel-error free warranty. Can't wait for it to arive!
