From the articles I have read from the Memory Company's 1gb is actually the sweet spot, I have 4 AlienWare Area 51's and 3 of them have 1gb of Ram & 1 has 2gb of Ram.
I visually see no difference with the one that has 2gb of Ram compared to the other 3 that have only 1gb of Ram. From the testing I have done on the 2 different Ram configurations it does indeed show the one with 2gb to be faster though.
But in real world visual and running applications I don't see any difference. Any little difference I did see time wise with the programs I tested on I just attributed to the difference in CPU Speed between the Computers...I would say 1gb of Ram would do 99.99% of the people out there just fine...
