well i dont know about alienware tweaking it beforehand. but the 6800 is a mighty card. i hear there will be a same version of that gpu out but with higher clocks and better memory so i am betting it will hit 9k in 3d03 and close to 4k on the 3d05. very impressive.

Yeah... as long as my desktop monsters also qualify =)

lol, well you qualify I suppose in that you have a laptop.... but no-one else here has that GPU for you to compare with. Attach some proof of the scores and I'll see if I can accomodate you, seeing as we may see that card in an upcoming Dell release I may as well get it started

Ok i just ran a test and snapped a SS of it, this is with a 71.24 driver and not the one shipped with my pc, I dont think the driver was meant for the 6800 go card as i did not see the option to choose that when installed it SO i chose what i thought was closest "6800 series gpu" the score is about the same as in my sig. So can i have a cookie or what?

Looks like I beat out the best speed for an overclocked GPU in 3DMark01 for a Radeon 9700 64MB. Clocked at 534/309, no artifacts after a few hours of gaming and doing benchmarks.

Not sure if this will work, but here's a link to the project on the 3DMark site.

More benchies for '03 and '05 will be coming.

i am not a dell, but i ran 3DMark05 (though thats not my highest possible score, i can OC just a bit with omegas and turn off a few extra apps when running the test), see my score below, not too bad for a ati 9700 eh?

We need login to access your page, it is better you post a screenshot or send one through e-mail. Once I have the score and confirmation (specs too!) then I can post it up.

Cheers,

I've seen that people with radeon 9600 64 mb and 2ghz p4 get better marks than me, although I have overclocked both my 3.4 Prescott and my 9700 radeon and have removed all background processes to a minimum (150mb).
My current high score is 3901 in 3d mark 2003 and 31,671 triscore in aquamark
Are they cheating? Are they using lower resolution for the tests or something? Are my test results reasonable? Even if I overclock some more, I don't think I will get anything more that 4000 in 3d mark 2003

My specs are:
P4 Prescott 3.4 ghz (overclocked to 3.6 for the tests)
Radeon 9700 128 mb with omega drivers overclocked with radlinker at 500core/300mem
1 gb Ram
80 gb Hitachi Travelstar 5400 rpm
3901 in 3d mark (around 3400 not overclocked)
31,671 aquamark

I am not posting any pictures. I am sure everyone will belive me. I am not braking any records or something.

@karoloydi
you should be able to overclock your core to much higher, i run 550 for benchmarks.......also, make sure all your ATI driver settings are on the lowest possible (performance) and strip everything out of memory that you dont need.......and set your fans to megablast for a few minutes before running the tests.
Thanks Geo_fanticist. So you think my benchmarks are resonable considering my settings? What were your benchmarks before overclocking?
Yeah i think it looks pretty good........i get 3592 with no CPU/GPU over clock, 4272 @ 550/305 with no CPU overclock.

Ok, I did all three and they all exceed the highest scores. I don't know if my higher scores are just a fluke or what, but I can put it into perspective like this. Before overclocking I wasn't really happy with my MR9700 64MB, especially trying to run at my native res (1280x800) in games like Half-Life 2. After overclocking it, I can say that I'm now satisfied overall - especially considering what the whole laptop cost me. So overclocking this laptop has changed me from being slightly disappointed to being plenty happy. And I'm one of those snobs who hates seeing action games at < 35-40fps. It was worth figuring out the limits of this laptop. MR9800 here I come - as soon as I can afford another $300 for an upgrade, that is!

Inspiron 9100
Mobility Radeon 9700 64MB
P4, Prescott I believe, 3.0GHz, overclocked to 3229MHz for the 3DMark03 and 3DMark05 tests. Default 3.0GHz for 3DMark 2001.
Latest Omega drivers, v2.5.9.7a
GPU overclocked to 524/309
1GB PC3200 RAM

3DMark 2001, 14049 3DMarks.

3DMark 2003, 4059 3DMarks.

3DMark 2005, 1151 3DMarks.

3DMark05 MR9800 OC'd

My OC and Flash fiending friend Whack got 3819 3DMarks if I remember correctly. With some particularly simple heat mods, I have managed to get 3869 with my MR9800 256MB card. All computer info is in comment including card clocks and such. Here are some fun pics to show my score:

Just a nice small shot of what counts.

And one of the whole desktop for you skeptics.
