Hi there. I have an 8790, and while I enjoy just about everything about it I am plagued with the sound/headphone issues. I have turned off everything that others have posted would help and tried updating the sound drivers with the ones off of Sagers sight and realtecks sight. Updating them makes it much worse, no matter wich ones are used. I use Bose ANC headphones. They sound great with everything else, but sound like total crud on my laptop. I have tried using a cheap 5 dollar pair of walkman type headphones, and they sounded rather good ( as compared to my very expensive headphones ). I have found that if I turn everything’s volume down extremely low ( and I mean everything….. media player volume so low it should be off ) it sounds “OK”. If things get turned back up I can here the hard drive spinning, searching, can also here when the cpu and video card cycle up. It is very annoying when trying to play games. Also, bass sounds through the headphones sounds horrible, though, again, with any thing else they sound great and produce a very clean solid bass. I am thinking that the headphones are just way to sensitive for the laptop. I was wondering if any one else was having a problem like this ( not just with headphones, but specifically with NC headphones ) and if any new of a place to purchase some sort of inline filter that would plug into the headphone port and then the headphones. Thanks for any advice and impute any one might have. And yes, I have read all the other headphone forums that I have could find on this sight. And no, sending it back is not really an option ( over a month round trip time from here ). Again, thanks.
