Area 51m 3.4Ghz 1gig RAM geforce 5700 15.4" screen etc. etc.

Oct. 8 => Phase 1
Oct. 11 => Phase 2
Oct. 12 => Phase 3
Oct. 16 => Phase 4

Woot. Almost identical systems too
I extended my warranty and got knocked back to 2 for a day, but I'm back at 4 again. My estimated ship date is Oct. 26 officially but the girl I spoke to today said realistically it would be the first week in November.

all parts finally in. I'm vowing to only check my phase twice today and not call poor Pat in customer service for a couple of days

Jumped from 4 to 9 today

Of course the downside to that is the happy numbness of acceptance I've felt for the last week or two instantly wore off and now I'm freaking again

damn you guys, I ordered on the 5th and still stuck in phase 6. Does anyone know if those holiday rush orders are trumping ours and causing delays ?

ordered mine on the oct 2nd (a saturday, so they didn't process it till the 4th), and mine shipped last night.. i'm not gloating (infact, now i'm expecting worst case scenario, i get a DOA notebook), i'm just mentioning it to help any theories as to why some of you are experiencing more delays, like poor pocketwitch who ordered hers 3 days before me and still hasn't gotten to phase 9...among others.

Grats Spudz and Finn and hang in there the rest of you. I jumped from 4 to 9 to 12 so you never know. You could be 14 tomorrow. I won't believe my phase status til the thing is in my hands.

as soon as I posted this I got a pre-shipment email from fedex for Saturday (woooot) but still showing phase 12.

that pretty-much confirms the theory that Alienware's phase-status page is NOT to be trusted, as the email from fedex isn't comin from Alienware, and obviously your system's at phase 14 if Fed-Ex already has shipment data for the package.

BTW, my fed-ex tracking says they picked it up at Alienware at 8:45 PM (last night, Florida time), way past business hours ...and it left Orlando this morning

Good news is...IT'S HERE!!!

Bad news is...within 10 minutes I found out the hard way that AlienGUIse is NOT your friend and had to restore the system

heh heh, exactly what i've been predictin, as i've mentioned in other posts, thats the first thing i'm doing when mine arrives: uninstalling alienGUIse.

and congrats on your system, mine arrives tuesday, so says Fed-Ex.

What was it that AlienGuise did that caused you to restore your system? Ive had my lappy for about a week and have used alienguise once or twice with no problems.
