touchpad mouse stops working after resume from standby

The touchpad pointer thing stops working after I come back from standby on my m35-s359. It gets really annoying as I have to restart the computer, totally defeating the purpose of standby. Can anybody shed some light on this issue?

Check if an update is avail. from the Support site. Should be one there.
