Problem with Promise 100TX Ultra ATA Controller Card

Okay, here goes: This weekend, i decided to install all of my new computer stuff in my old Dell D8200. but before long, it all went to hell. now i have pretty much everything fixed but this: The UATA card that came with my western digital 200gb drive. i installed it into a PCi slot, connected the included cable to the drive, plugged the cable into the IDE2 slot (since the pins on the IDE1 slot were bent for some reason ), and started up the computer. as it was showing the card BIOS initialization screen, it stated that no drives were found attached. so, perplexed, i set the drive as a slave on the cable and my old 40gb (which might be corrupted because a power outage interrupted a reformat) as the master, and it all showed up. wtf is going on? if anyone has any ideas (especially on the drive corruption issue), please say so! thanks!

Okay, sorry about that, i got it working, the problem was that the drive power connectors came unseated. but anyways, i need some help with installing xp pro corp: i tried it on my old 40gb drive, but it froze at the "rebooting computer" phase and shut down, screwing the drive up methinks. i have only one hard drive left, a 200gb 7200rpm IDE WD (on the same controller card), and i'm not gonna let this one die on me. pleeeeeeeeease help me!
