I recently swapped out my Mattshita (LOL that is so stupid that they blank that out....that is the name of the company! This site is being really foolish) slot loading dvd drive because it turns out that it was the reason that my bios screen was taking so long. I got an RMA and a upgrade to the NEC ND-6500A DL dvd burner. Now my boot is fast and the bios screen is quick. Problem is that now my laptop no longer says AMD 3700+ 2.4ghz. It reads as AMD 3700+ 801 mhz. It sometimes goes as low as 247mhz or 602 mhz. I can't understand this. I changed the power from laptop/portable to always on home office and all it did was turn it to a constant 801 mhz. How do I get it up to 2.4 ghz. Even in games like UT2004 and Doom3 it still reads as 801mhz. What do I do?
