Which Laptop to buy? Dell Inpiron 8600 or Acer TravelMate 4500

Hi, Im from Singapore and have 2 options with me right now. The Dell Inspiron 8600 or Acer TravelMate 4502WLMi.

My cousin can send me the Dell from the US using the 30% coupon but then I dont get the international warranty for USD$1475. Or I get the Acer from here for USD $1350, and I get the International Warranty. Im writting the spece below tih comparison please help me decide. which would be a better and a wiser choice.

I'd say the Acer, because it's cheaper and has a warranty. Not to mention I'm not very happy with this old Dell.

The 8600 does NOT have dual channel RAM.

It's a good computer. I love it. I haven't had any experience with the Acer, but I'm sure it's just as good. I would recommend the Dell, but given that you're in Singapore... that changes things.

You mean to say The Dell 8600 does not have DDR Ram is it so? Thats pretty backward it seems...

DDR - Double Data Rate, it doesn't refer to number of channels.

Well ok now I know what Dual Channel is, and Im also guessing Acer has Dual Channel Support giving it one more plus point.

I would never, ever buy Acer. Worst. Tech. Support. Ever. They HUNG UP on me when I asked THEM to stop yelling AT ME! No cross shipment support, no on-site, if you have any problems -- ship them your notebook and hope they get it back to you at some point in the near future.

My travelmate had a blurry second monitor output, and get this, they told me "We don't consider poor quality to be the same as a malfunction". They ADMITTED that they knew there was a problem with the second monitor output, but that they wouldn't fix it! I was incredulous at this.

Dell screens are horrible, 35ms refresh times or greater.
