sager 8790 usb 2.0

i have had my 8790 for a while now, approx, 4 months, and i have never really used anything that would use usb 2.0, i just did all that on my desktop, but now i am at college, and my usb 2.0 doesn't work :S, all my ports seem to operate as usb 1. i was wondering if there is something wrong, or the 8790 doesn't come w/usb 2.0 and i never realized it

do you have service pack 1 installed? (assuming you are using windows xp)...
go into your device manager, and uninstall/remove all of your usb controllers ...then reboot...it will reinstall them, and should set them up for usb2.0
